Importance of Carrier Roller

Carrier rollers and excavator top rollers are essential components of an excavator’s undercarriage system, playing a vital role in supporting the machine’s weight and facilitating smooth track movement.

Excavator carrier rollers, also known as excavator bottom rollers or excavator lower rollers, are located on the underside of the undercarriage and support the lower track run.

While excavator top rollers, also known as excavator track rollers or excavator upper rollers, are located on the upper side of the undercarriage and support the upper track run.

Our company can ensure the quality of these elements to keep the safe of the excavator.

What Material Are Our Carrier Rollers Made of?

  • Steel: Steel is the primary material used for carrier rollers and top rollers due to its strength and durability. High-strength steel alloys are chosen to withstand the demanding conditions of excavation and construction environments.
  • Cast Iron: Cast iron is also commonly used for carrier rollers and top rollers, particularly in heavy-duty applications. Cast iron provides good wear resistance and can withstand high loads.

Our Carrier Roller Uses Top-grade Heat Treatment to Process Materials

  • The main body of the support wheel is made from high-quality alloy steel, such as 50Mn or 40SiMnTi. These materials provide strength for heavy-duty use.
  • The wheel body is circular and forged from alloy steel bars.
  • A multi-step heat treatment process further enhances the performance of the wheel. Heating, quenching, and tempering alter the microstructure to achieve optimal properties.
  • Quenching after heating increases the surface hardness to between HRC 50-58. This hard surface layer improves wear resistance during operation.
  • The wheel shaft uses high-manganese steel to increase strength. The shaft also undergoes quenching and tempering to achieve a hard exterior and ductile core.
